Hello, brew friends!

Let our taps pour on: suburban vice, new arrivals at O’Hare airport, Illinois hops production and your very own beer Olympics.

SUBURBAN VICE

Vice District Brewing will open a 15-barrel brewhouse and tap room in south suburban Homewood (22 miles south of downtown Chicago) by early spring 2017. It’s exciting growth for a brewery that opened only two years ago. [Crain’s]

TERMINAL 1

WHAT’S HOPPIN’?

Similar to the state’s economy, hops production in Illinois suffering. The big money it takes to join the craft beer boom has carried onto the growing fields and Illinois hops producers are in a drought when it comes to resources and funding. [Chicago Tribune]

GO FOR GOLD

Beer Olympics. Think about it. Pool at Delilah’s; darts at Cody’s; bags at Murphy’s Bleachers. You’ve always been a world class athlete in your head so why not win gold without having to compete in human poo (sorry Rio). [Time Out]
