Let our taps pour on: suburban vice, new arrivals at O’Hare airport, Illinois hops production and your very own beer Olympics.
Vice District Brewing will open a 15-barrel brewhouse and tap room in south suburban Homewood (22 miles south of downtown Chicago) by early spring 2017. It’s exciting growth for a brewery that opened only two years ago. [Crain’s]
Goose Island has two branded beer pubs inside O’Hare International Airport. Soon there will be a third location to enjoy Goose Island beers, but little else is known about the new installation at Terminal 1. [Chicago Eater]
Similar to the state’s economy, hops production in Illinois suffering. The big money it takes to join the craft beer boom has carried onto the growing fields and Illinois hops producers are in a drought when it comes to resources and funding. [Chicago Tribune]
