This beer tour takes place in the Loop & South Loop neighborhoods and is located right in Downtown Chicago, easily accessible via public transportation. We will meet near Wabash & Jackson; exact location to be emailed upon ticket purchase. A trained guide will lead you on approximately a one and a half mile walk through these neighborhoods, where you’ll learn about Chicago and beer and taste great beer over a three-hour period.

Delicious beer tastings are served on the Sin & Suds Beer Tour (subject to change):

Exchequer Pub

An old Chicago speakeasy and restaurant where Capone himself was known to hang out.

The Berghoff

One of the oldest bars in the city, started by a one of the many German immigrants we’ve had in the city, still holding liquor license No. 1 issued after Prohibition.

Buddy Guy's Legends

A blues club that was started by Buddy Guy, one of the ultimate legends in the business.

First Draft

A beer bar with an extensive selection of local craft beers.

Public transportation is highly recommended. Our meeting point is within walking distance of all CTA L trains and Metra downtown stations. Paid parking lots are nearby as well.

Have questions? Here's the most frequently asked.

Is the tour ever cancelled due to inclement weather?

Nope. We’re tough here in Chicago, and tours will be offered snow, rain, sleet or shine.  However, it’s not a issue as long as you are prepared…and, remember, you get to put on your beer jacket, too! You can check Chicago’s ten day weather forecast by clicking here.

Can I tip the guide at the end of the tour?

Yes!  Tips are welcome.  If you enjoy your tour, the suggested tip is  approximately 15%.

Can I bring a baby, small child, or pet on the tour?

Unfortunately, no.  We have to abide by bar policies and certain laws and regulations.  We still love them, though!

Do I need to be 21 years of age to take the tour?

Yes.  IDs will be checked, even if you purchase the no-beer ticket.  The establishments that we visit will only allow those 21 and above because of the law.

Will there be food offered on the tour? Should I eat beforehand?

There are limited food tastings on the tours – bacon tastings on our Bacon & Brewing tour, a Chicago-style hot dog on our Pioneers & Pints tour, and a small pub snack on our Sin & Suds tour. However, it is recommended that you consume a snack or late lunch if you are hungry prior to your tour. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity to enjoy before or after you finish the tour.

This is a great tour for people who like beer, history, and history about beer and... well you get it. Phil displayed an extensive knowledge on the beers we tasted, and managed to keep our attention with fascinating stories about the city. Even for non-drinkers like me, this tour was a lot of fun.
